Saffron Walden Police will be holding a property marking clinic at
Elmdon Village Hall on Saturday 21st June from 10 till 12. Property
marking (visible for items such as mowers, petrol driven garden tools or invisible for personal items like cameras, laptops and phones) not only assists with restoring
your property to you in the unfortunate event of its being stolen
but also provides the Police with essential evidence to link stolen
property with the perpetrators of the crime if found. The Police say that visible marking of garden equipment brings a strong deterrent as marked equipment cannot be sold on. Bring your
valuables to this clinic and they will be marked for you. Items can
include valuable portable items like computers, cameras, Hi-Fi
equipment, garden tools, bicycles, paintings, porcelain and so on.
If you have items which are too large to move the Police will
arrange to visit your home to do the marking. At the same time they
will be providing general security advice including protecting
garden sheds, fitting locks and bolts and use of CCTV. If you know
now that you will need a home visit, please send an email to PC
Hannah Griffiths hannah.griffiths@essex.pnn.police.uk This Clinic will also give you the opportunity to meet our local policing team (Police constables and Police Community Support Officers. We need to promote stronger communication links with our local police force and this will be great opportunity to start that process. Please make every effort to attend and show the local Police team that we care about developing closer links with them. |
